The reference tetrode of the golden era — the tube Dynaco, McIntosh, and Marantz designed their flagship amplifiers around, made at the Marconi-Osram Valve Company at Hammersmith and branded Genalex for the export market. This quad dated to the second quarter of 1968, all four with the correct gold-print lion crest and the deep-drawn brown bases with the milled ridges.
They went to a collector in Osaka in early 2026. We handled the export paperwork and they left in a wooden crate with silica gel and hand-cut foam.
