A Leitz binocular dissecting microscope from Wetzlar, serial 258441, which places manufacture in the winter of 1932. The black-crackle enamel is largely intact, worn only where forty years of hands have gripped the stage yoke.
Both Huygens eyepieces are haze-free and the paired paddle mirrors — one silvered, one white — pivot without complaint. Magnification is nominal 10x, adequate for entomological pinning work or watchmakers' assembly, which is exactly what its previous owner used it for.
Comes with a Leitz-marked wooden storage plinth, though the original case is long gone.
