Twenty-four Edison Blue Amberol four-minute cylinders, spanning 1912 to 1918, all in their original cardboard tubes with lids intact and titles legible. The blue celluloid is dense and unclouded; there is no bloom, no cracking at the plaster core.

Program runs to what you'd expect from a middle-class household of the period: marches, sentimental ballads, a Sousa, a Harry Lauder, two hymns, and one unexpectedly good Peerless Quartet number. All twenty-four play cleanly through a four-minute Diamond reproducer with no more surface than the format itself imposes.
