On this piece

An Edison Standard Model B cylinder phonograph, 1901, in the transitional cabinet with the black-japanned metal top and oak base. Plays two-minute wax cylinders through the original Model C reproducer. The governor runs smooth to the ear, the mainspring holds a full charge, and the crank engages without slip.

Comes with a period 'Concert' horn (14-inch brass bell) that suits the machine's output—loud enough for a parlor, not so bright as to ring thin. Banner decal on the lid is roughly 60% present, which for a Standard of this vintage is better than most. Bedplate nickel is even; the belt has been replaced once, correctly.
